I am fortunate to be based within the Mendip area of outstanding natural beauty (Mendip AONB) and many of the topics presented concern this area, but not exclusively so. My academic background is natural sciences with earth science, archaeology and heritage, but my interests are eclectic and cover a wide range, including archaeology, cave exploration, and the natural world, in general anything to do with the great oudoors. As an outdoor enthusiast I have a particular interest in landscapes, not only how the underlying geology has shaped the land but also the effect that humankind has had upon it through settlement, agriculture and industrial activities.
This is me carrying out resitivity profiling at Stanton Drew Stone Circles during the summer 2010 with Bath & Camerton Archaeological Society.
There are a number of blogs that give regular updates of fieldwork, excursions, trips, cave exploration and thoughts that are not always about singular specific subjects but involve a combination of my interests.
